How salt therapy works

01, Sep 2019 in Education & Resources

Salt therapy has been a natural healing treatment for over 100 years and is a particularly excellent choice of natural, drug-free treatment for people who suffer from allergies or respiratory issues.

Conducted in a calm environment, it’s the perfect choice for those who seek a holistic path toward healthier skin and a clearer and cleaner respiratory system.

From babies to older people, salt therapy is beneficial for a myriad of ailments, ranging from snoring to psoriasis. Beyond that, it’s also simple, safe and effective.

This form of treatment promotes improved breathing, better sleeping abilities, healthier skin, less inflammation and toxicity and a stronger immune system. But on top of that, it’s also noted as being a complete wellbeing package in an environment that’s comfortable and inviting for those who participate in it.

How does it work?

Salt therapy uses micro-particles of salt that have been placed inside a machine called a halogenerator. The halogenerator grinds the pharmaceutical-grade salt into minuscule particles, which are then dispersed throughout the treatment room, where the client is seated.

Upon diffusion of these tiny particles, the client is then able to inhale the small micro-elements of the salt into their lungs to assist with many health, skin and breathing issues.

The salt clears congestion, aids blocked airways, increases the amount of oxygen intake and can rid the body of the harmful effects of dust and city pollution. Additionally, it’s great for issues stemming from smoking and other common allergens.

The tiny particles of salt are also able to permeate the skin, which aids in restoring a person’s body to a less toxic state, as well as providing an effective reduction in inflammation throughout.

Who can use salt therapy?

Salt therapy is particularly useful for those with skin conditions, including acne, psoriasis and eczema. This is a real boon for parents who don’t wish to treat common childhood eczema on their kids with chemically-formulated treatments. In a nutshell, the skin absorbs the particles through the pores and creates a cleaner, more balanced environment for the skin overall, allowing it to regenerate and restore itself.

This mode of healing also assists with skin lesions and cuts, encouraging them to heal faster. An added benefit is the decrease in itching and scaling, in cases of dermatitis and eczema.

Salt therapy can also provide the benefits of less dependency on prescription medicines, such as inhalers or creams. However, it is always best to consult with your regular physician for further clarification.

What happens in a treatment session?

Salt therapy is a natural, holistic health treatment that’s designed to suit just about everyone – regardless of age. It’s also safe for pregnant women, and contains no negative side-effects or symptoms.

When you arrive for a session, you are taken to the salt room and settled in. You will sit in a recliner chair – while the halogenerator begins to emit the microscopic particles.

In the case of younger children, an environment with toys and games is available, allowing them to have fun while receiving treatment.

Each session is 45 minutes in duration, with exception of children and is designed to provide a carefree, calming solution to a range of skin conditions. It’s that simple.
